Verify, an Amsterdam-based AI startup, raised €1M to develop AI algorithms for image and video authenticity.

Investors include Niels Bouwman and Chris Hall, with Google participating through its Google for Startups Cloud Program.

Funds will be used to hire AI developers, expand within Europe and the U.S., and enhance product offerings.

Founded on January 1, 2024, by CTO Hugo Smits and led by CEO Niels Bouwman, Verify's technology embeds an invisible fingerprint in media to combat fake news and copyright infringements.

Clients include Vinci Energies, Erasmus University, and the Dutch national union FNV.
