Checkmate, an Auckland-based pre-employment screening provider, has secured NZD 2.7M in Seed funding.

The investment was led by Wavemaker Partners. The raised funds will be used to expand into the US and Southeast Asia markets, and to enhance their technological capabilities and user experience.

Founded in 2019 by CEO Scott Inglis, Checkmate integrates background checks, compliance processes, and AI-driven reference checking into one platform. The company serves over 500 enterprise clients across nine countries.
